The piece of wood was just big enough to make this set, as well... and maybe one other piece, but I won't know until I cut into that secction. Spalted wood is so very unique.  No two pieces have the same pattern.  Notice the difference int he lines from two pieces taken from the same log.  I love discovering what lies underneath the bark! This is a very pretty cooking set that is comfortable int he hand.  No two spalted sets are the same. In order to carve a spalted set that matches, I have to choose a section of wood by eye that I think will be suitable.  Then, I split the log so that each pie...
