My goal is always to make spoons and spatulas that are not only attractive, but that feel good in the hand and are useful in the kitchen.

When I cook, using wooden spatulas, I either want a short, sturdy spatula for stirring a roux or a sauce, or a very big one to stir and serve big pots of rice a la Creole, jambalaya or a Carolina chicken bog.  So, I got creative with these two.

The small one would probably be among my most often used cooking utensils if I kept it (I am carving a matching set for myself, btw).

The big spatula is like nothing you will ever find in a store.  It is truly my own unique design.  Using well seasoned wild cherry allowed me to carve a very large, strong and useful utensil, that is also light and comfortable in the hand. The top of the blade is scooped, so it can also be used for serving.

This set is the perfect gift for someone who loves to cook!

I think whoever buys this these will enjoy using them.  As always, my woodwork is sustainably sourced from trees that are storm damaged or that must be thinned. Each piece is entirely hand made in the ancient greenwood tradition. I use only a hand saw, a small axe and knives. These are heirloom quality spoons that, if properly cared for, will last for generations.
