Cherry Spatula and Sauce Spoon

Price $50 with free shipping in the continental US.

I ship using USPS Ground, which is the least expensive option that included a tracking number.  If you prefer Priority Mail or another shipping option, international shipping or would like to combine shipping on multiple items to save a little money, please email me at judson@judsoncarroll.com

This was a fun set to carve, but it took several tries.  Spoon carvers call the rise between the bowl and the handle a "crank."  Cranked spatulas are among the most difficult to carve because the blade of the spatula must be very thin, with a slow taper to the handle.  This combination makes for an easily used kitchen tool that is also very strong.

The Sauce Scoop is also challenging.  You need a straight edge to get into the corners of a pan or pot for stirring, with a scooped bowl to lift the sauce.  I like the little knot in this one - it shows the color of the cherry wood very nicely.

I am very pleased with the angle of the spatula - this is a real pancake and egg flipper!

I recessed the bowl of the Sauce Scoop to give it a larger capacity.  Both are very comfortable in the hand and the grain is just gorgeous!

I think whoever buys this these will enjoy using them.  As always, my woodwork is sustainably sourced from trees that are storm damaged or that must be thinned. Each piece is entirely hand made in the ancient greenwood tradition. I use only a hand saw, a small axe and knives. These are heirloom quality spoons that, if properly cared for, will last for generations.
